This is pretty similar to the Elementalist soul that we had talked about earlier, the reason why is that you’re given a pet with this soul as well. It has a great tanking pet that you get right away after selecting it as one of your souls, which makes it a great off- soul for leveling. Also you have some pretty good self-healing abilities, which again is good for leveling as well as PvP. When coupled with the right off-souls the Necromancer can be an extremely dangerous soul to go up against in any situation.
The Stormcaller soul is pretty bland in my opinion, there isn’t really too much to mess around with and the soul is pretty straight forward. It does decent damage but in all honesty doesn’t compare to the damage output of other souls in the Mage family. It is pretty similar to another soul the mage has “pyromancer” which we are going to discuss next, but definitely doesn’t match up to that soul. Please be aware of that you should always keep few RIFT platinum on the packet of your RIFT characters.
Like I said, the Pyromancer is somewhat similar to the Stormcaller, it focuses on doing high amounts of damage, and it really does succeed. It does some great AoE damage as well as really high single-target damage. It makes for a good PvP soul as you’re able to kill opponents extremely fast, but doesn’t work too well for leveling as you would have quite a bit of downtime.
The last of the eight main Mage souls we’ll talk about is the Chloromancer. You may be wondering when we are getting to the healing soul I was talking about earlier, and here it is. It also does some good life damage as well as the life healing it does, it makes for a fantastic off soul when leveling since you can heal yourself, and makes for a good pvp off-soul as you can heal others.
It is a decent healing soul for raiding, if you are extremely skilled you may be able to heal in raiding but it will be difficult, it is much easier going with one of the Cleric’s healing souls.
