After we have a basic look at all of the different roles a Mage class can play in Rift, and next we will take a quick look at the strengths and weaknesses of playing the Mage class:
Strengths – Like I said above the Mage has a lot of interesting roles that you typically don’t see as a possibility to be the characters main use, along with that they do have the option to heal as well as some great DPS souls, and even pets! Mages have an extremely large amount of different abilities and roles that they can do which makes them a very tough opponent in PvP because you never really know what they’re going to be throwing at you.
Weaknesses – Mages are going to take quite a bit of damage compared to other classes, you may be focused down a lot in PvP because people see you’re a mage and think you’re an easy opponent to kill. Also, you don’t have a tanking soul whereas every other class does, but you make up for that in the other roles you have that other classes don’t.
