Unique Birthday Party

Tuesday, November 30th, 2010

Many of my friends wonder how my 18th birthday was. The answer I always give them is none but ‘Fantastic!’. My friends threw me a party at Jane’s place. My best friend, Mary gave me the best present ever by holding up a yogurts feast! Before the party was even set up, she arrived with her secret weapon, her best yogurt maker! In her inventory, she had all the ammo — the ingredients ready to be launch into the maker and roll! Eventually, we worked together and I found that the process of making yogurt is not really hard but requires a lot of skills and experience. When the party was just about to start, we served the yogurt to all my friends. The taste is indescribably extraordinary.

Making the Most of What We Have

Tuesday, November 30th, 2010

I am always looking for ways to save money. The downturn of the economy has really been hard on our family and we are doing everything we can to make the most of what we have. The other night my husband suggested that we all go out to dinner. Immediately I started thinking that it would be expensive because we have three children and two of them are “eating machines”. Just then I remember that I could go online and search form some coupons for restaurants in Fort Myers. I found several that were for restaurants that we all really like.

Plastic Wine Glasses in the Stores

Tuesday, November 30th, 2010

It is very unlikely to look for plastic wine glassess because most of the displays in the stores are glasses which are really made of glass. Yet, there are times when it is more practical to use glasses made of plastics especially during big occasions wherein the host of the party can’t track anymore the number of glasses which they already distributed. Yes, it is in fact better to use plastics because they are disposable. But these glasses are not the same with plastic cups though these are plastics but it is not for water it is for wine. As expected it is thicker than those of the disposable cups.

What is a good Chef Knife

Monday, November 29th, 2010

A little while back I began the job as a chef’s helper in a hotel kitchen, it was then that I learned about the best knife set. It doesn’t always have to be the highest priced knife in the market to be the best chef knife, nor is it determined by the amount of endorsements by star chefs. The performance of the knife is all about balance and heft it affords you when you use it. If you think the weight and grip is not suitable, you may want to consider choosing another. Weightier knives are best suited for chefs with larger hands, while those with smaller hands should use a lightweight model.

Choosing a fine wine is more than just taking a look at the price tag. To pick fine wines you must also look at color, variety of grapes used and where they are grown, how the wine is produced and its taste and viscosity, its appearance. Perhaps most important in choosing fine wines is the individual taste and personal preference. You want to choose a wine which you will enjoy drinking, not simply because it is labeled as fine. The finest quality wines are allowed to age or mature longer and are typically stored in oak barrels. Being able to read the wine’s label is also key, as the label will tell you everything you need to know about a particular vintage.

Non Stick?

Monday, November 29th, 2010

I know that some old wives’ tales stem from good intentions, even the hopelessly outmoded ones. For example, some best toaster oven reviews suggest lining your toaster oven tray with aluminum foil to prevent food from sticking to it. I don’t know who started that story, but I can tell you with absolute certainty that there is not a grain of truth to it at all. Food won’t stick to your toaster oven tray if you grease it first. You don’t need to slather on enough fat to create an oil slick, just spray the tray with a non stick spray and you’re good to go. Why use aluminum foil?

A visit to a coffee shop

Monday, November 29th, 2010

I was really impressed as I visited a coffee shop where they give you the privilege to make your own coffee pods which I really welcomed because for a very long time I was always thinking of making my own coffee pods as I have many ideas within me that in my opinion would make a great combination in a coffee pod. At the first try I opted to just make a simple coffee combined with at little chocolate and nutmeg which turned out to be really great. But some of my friends opted to make the more adventurous types that is why I hope some of it end up in the market someday.

Precautionary Measures

Monday, November 29th, 2010

We are looking for a lighting company in san antonio TX that can rent us lights for our daughter’s graduation party. We have the tent and the caterer in place so the lights are our next big concern. Although it will be light until at least ten that night, we don’t expect the party to wind down until two or three in the morning. The last thing we want is for one of the kids to get hurt in the dark. This is one of the biggest nights of their life so we are going to take every precautionary measure. Lights are just one of them.
